This is the most beautiful thing ever.
Once upon a time, in the far away Kingdom of the Cookies, there was a magical cookie by the name of Ray. (Actually, there were a lot of magical cookies, but we’re focusing on Ray). Anyway, so the Kingdom of the Cookies practiced communism and believed that all cookies were equal. They were all made of the same cookie dough recipe, and no one was better-tasting than his/her neighbor. Then one day, another magical cookie named Chip discovered a magical portal at the bottom of a magical canyon that held an unlimited supply of magical chocolate (he really liked magical stuff). Having no idea what this magical (there it is again) black rock could be, Chip, of course, decided the best thing to do was to eat it. By the time he had returned to the town, splotches of chocolate had appeared all over his body, and suddenly his social status (determined by how good he tasted) skyrocketed. Since then, cookies like Chip have been known as “chocolate chip cookies”. Suddenly, everyone wanted to be a chocolate chip cookie. Not all were able to accomplish this, however. Some cookies became sugar cookies or snickerdoodles or any one of these. Then, there was Ray. Sadly, no matter what he did, he couldn’t seem to move up in the newly created social ladder. The other cookies laughed at him and attacked him with grapes and oats. Overtime, the grapes dried and the oats became stuck to his cookie dough. Now when people reached into the cookie jar, everyone went for the chocolate chip cookies or sugar cookies or snickerdoodles, etc first. (It depended on who was picking the cookies) Ray, however, was always picked last.
And this is how the Oatmeal Raisin cookie was born. |
