This is the most beautiful thing ever.

So last week, I have been pretty much obsessed with this video. I mean, a) it’s about a pegasus, and b) the pegasus has rainbow fur that has sparkles coming off of it. What’s not to like? If you’re one of those few unfortunate people who I actually talk to, you probably had this song stuck in your head for a week because I sang it to you pretty much every second of the day. Yes, I wasted time memorizing all the words.
I think these were the most enlightening three minutes of my life.
I don’t even know what it is–this video just makes me insanely happy. Not only does almost everything smile and glow, the words of the song just seem so random, and I was hysterically laughing by the time the video ended.
Of course I watched it over five more times instead of working. Some time during those five times, I started trying to pay closer attention to the words. In some random burst of genius, I suddenly realized: the whole video is a metaphor.
The thousand-armed robot octopus…the genetically-modified salamander with a face just like George Clooney… the Rock of Billy Worm from Space Land… All of these randomly-put-together phrases represent obstacles to overcome, and the whole song encourages you to conquer those obstacles:
“The thousand-armed robot octopus will try to grab your golden reins, but your wings are strong from the Battle over Cupcake Mountain.”
“The genetically-modified salamander with a face just like George Clooney can’t track you down with the Rock of Billy Worm from Space Land.”
I’ve heard from a numerous amount of people to “Reach for the stars” or that “The sky is the limit.” No one has ever told me something like “Never bow to the gummy king’s throne” or any of the other quotes I listed above. Basically, this video is by far the most unique way I’ve ever heard someone convey the message “Follow your dreams.” I think that’s why I like the song so much. Not only is it about a magical, flying horse with wings that trail sparkles, the lyrics are awesome.
No matter how insane or ridiculous they seem, you must follow your dreams~
